Narrative Project: To create a book outlining a key event in your life. 

I decided to have my 20th birthday as the foundation; in Japan, turning 20 means you're an adult now, and many new responsibilities and expectations are made. Throughout the book I try to convey my feelings towards the "coming of age", and the delicate subject matter of tradition and religion. 

The first few pages forces the reader to read from up to down, right to left; how Japanese people read (as long as other Asian countries). However, by the end, the reader reads left to right, showing the gradual transition from a traditional state of mind, to a more modern state of mind.
